The Forty Niner Manor is comprised of 36 one-bedroom housing units for low-income independent seniors age 55+. There are 26 BC Housing subsidized suites, which rent at 30% of income, and 10 Low End Market Rent suites. All units are approximately 500 sq. ft., have a backyard patio, laundry hook-ups in suite, and a parking space. Tenants are responsible for their own utilities. There is also a central laundry room and a common area hall that is used for tenant social functions. No pets or smoking is allowed in any of the units.

Please note that the Society does not directly process requests or applications for housing. All requests must be made by contacting BC Housing online, or filling out and mailing an application form on this website, or by picking up a form at The Society of Organized Services (SOS), located at 245 West Hirst Avenue, Parksville, BC. Note that all applications considered for housing are based first on need and housing availability, not on application date.

Once you have submitted your application, you will only be contacted for an interview when a suitable unit becomes available. Also note that we do not provide emergency housing or shelter.
