Gillingham Estates is a BC Housing subsidized 20-unit townhouse property for low-income families in need. Rent is based on 30% of income or a flat rate if resident is on income or disability assistance. The complex is comprised of nine 2-bedroom units, eight 3-bedroom units, and three 4-bedroom units. One of the 2-bedroom units is handicap accessible. All units are heated by electric baseboard. Tenants are responsible for their own hydro, cable TV and internet. Each unit is plumbed for a washer and dryer (tenant supplied). Off street parking for tenants and visitors is available. No pets of any kind are allowed, nor is smoking permitted in the units.

All requests must be made by contacting BC Housing online, or filling out and mailing an application form on this website, or by picking up a form at The Society of Organized Services (SOS), located at 245 West Hirst Avenue, Parksville, BC. Note that all applications considered for housing are based first on need and housing availability, not on application date.

Once you have submitted your application, you will only be contacted for an interview when a suitable unit becomes available. Also note that we do not provide emergency housing or shelter.
